Candidates must have excellent training, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. This position will require frequent travel, both locally and throughout the country. This full-time position involves multiple tasks including, but not limited to:


  • Provide training to clients on database management applications in a variety of ways which include:
    • virtual
    • webinars
    • on-site
    • SofterWare headquarters
    • regional class
  • Determine training curriculum
  • Design training materials
  • Ensure clients’ needs are met by working with customers before and after training occurs
  • Anticipate customer needs beyond the prepared curriculum in order to answer questions and provide appropriate guidance
  • Ability to assess and provide clients with comprehensive details of best practices and database improvements in DonorPerfect
  • Ability to make travel arrangements independently
  • Assist the Training Department Team Lead in all departmental tasks as needed


The skills and experience of our Training Specialist typically include:

  • Excellent people and customer service skills
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Attention to detail
  • 2+ years experience providing training on software applications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with the needs of nonprofit organizations preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with others
  • 2 or 4 year college degree preferred
