The Director of Product is responsible for developing and aligning the company on a comprehensive product vision, strategy, and roadmap that spans the entire customer and product lifecycle. This leader will inspire the company and will coach focusing on creating products that are delightfully easy to use, reliable, and affordable, and which serve our core product objectives. The role involves close collaboration with teams across the business to ensure alignment with company goals and client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with company goals and supports sustained growth. Regularly update and refine this vision based on evolving market trends, customer needs, and competitive analysis.
  • Product Roadmap:Influence the prioritization of the product feature backlog to drive execution of our product vision and business goals; gain consensus support and understanding..
  • Customer-Centric Design:Partner with development on the creation of customer journey maps, leveraging data to make informed decisions on product development, partnerships, or acquisitions.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Design and execute effective go-to-market strategies that enhance customer acquisition, engagement, and retention using real-time usage data and market insights.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate the product roadmap, updates, and changes to internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients and partners. Ensure transparency and clarity in how product decisions align with overall business objectives.
  • Research and Innovation: Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation, ensuring the team leverages qualitative and quantitative research to identify customer pain points and opportunities, validate hypotheses, and refine solutions.  Regularly perform market driven research, organize and aggregate data driven insights to inform prioritization and the roadmap.
  • Compliance and Security: Anticipate and provide for compliance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements..
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain clear and transparent communication of product objectives with all delivery teams, fostering a collaborative environment that facilitates product innovation and execution.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing team, providing guidance on best practices in product management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with customers, partners, and internal teams to gather actionable feedback, ensuring that product development aligns with market demands and organizational goals.
  • Product Partnerships: Incorporate third-party products into the Product Roadmap and manage existing partnerships.

Requirements

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, with strong interpersonal skills to influence and motivate stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated success in setting and executing product strategy, with a keen ability to balance long-term vision with short-term execution.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of data-driven decision-making that drives business value.
  • Industry Expertise: Recognized thought leader with a strong understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience with business modeling, financial analysis, and interpretation to support strategic decision-making.
  • Negotiation and Partnerships: Skilled in advanced partner contracts and negotiations, including client contract negotiations.
  • Product Innovation: Proven ability to lead product invention and innovation, with experience in developing multi-year roadmaps and managing multiple product lines.
  • Marketing and Sales: Understanding of marketing and sales dynamics, including pricing management and go-to-market strategy. Experience managing a mid-sized team and setting up effective commission and incentive structures.

Education and Experience:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree, or further education, in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in product management or a related field, with experience in leading end-to-end product development for a SaaS B2B solution. Experience in Agile methodologies and product development processes. Experience in the nonprofit sector is very desirable but not required. In addition, experience in  payment processing will be helpful, but not required.
