New Release of DonorPerfect Online

We’re excited to announce that a major upgrade to DonorPerfect Online will be released on Wednesday, November 8th! In addition to many new and enhanced features, we’ve also reorganized the navigation to make it easier to use.

Items for Release:

New Navigation: Modules Tab!

In an effort to improve DonorPerfect Online navigation, we have re-organized all available Modules into one convenient menu. Modules are optional components that you may choose to implement. Some modules, like EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) and Orders Management, are purchased separately and require some additional training. Other modules are free, and can be used at any time - though we do recommend training!

When you login after the upgrade, you will notice that the ‘Batch Entry’ navigation tab has been changed to ‘Modules’, and all modules have been placed below it as sub-items. Here is a look at how the Navigation has changed:

Ultimately, this change in navigation provides a cleaner look to the Utilities screen and enables us to place new modules in the same logical location (Modules).


New and Improved Dashboard


The DonorPerfect Online Dashboard has been overhauled to provide more functionality than ever before- in fact it can now be considered a ‘Portal’ into your other activity on the Internet.

Here’s what you can expect to see:

  • Share Your Dashboard Reports - DPO now offers you the ability to ‘share’ Dashboard reports between users. After you create your report, simply click the ‘Share’ link and select which users need access. The next time those users login into DPO, they will see your report on their dashboard! This new feature eliminates the time consuming task of creating dashboard reports for each user.
  • Display Open Contacts - This new section will display a list of all open or overdue contacts that have been assigned to your user ID. Overdue contacts will appear in red text and are drillable down to the contact record. Open contacts will appear if they have a due date between ‘today’ and one week ahead.
  • Create Custom Website Links - Personalize your Dashboard by creating user defined links to your favorite websites! You can create an unlimited number of links to your own website, your email, or news and information websites.
  • View DPO News - These links provide access to our user forums, product website, and our updated weekly Blog!

Improved Tribute Tracking!

We have redesigned the method of tracking Tributes, such as honorariums and memorials, in DPO. This new method will allow you to easily create, process, report, and acknowledge all tribute donations through the new ‘Tribute’ data entry screen.

Features and Benefits include:

  • Track an unlimited number of Tributes per constituent
  • Link all donations to tribute records
  • Easily acknowledge all donors
  • Inform the honoree or main contact of all contributions made

 

To compliment this new method of Tribute tracking, DPO has also added three new reports: Tributes List, Tributes Summary List, and Tributes Support, all three of which are located under Reports, Financial Reports, and Tribute Reports. Please Note: The old Memorial/Honorarium fields have been removed from the Gift screen, but are still accessible through filters and the custom report writer. In addition, any data that was stored in these fields has been appended to the Gift Memo fields so it is easily accessible.

It only takes a few minutes to learn this new method of tracking Tributes. If you currently track Tributes, you can refer to the Entry Screens chapter in our updated manual, or sign up for our Basics Webinar.


Advanced Password Management

DonorPerfect Online now includes an additional layer of security. Created to comply with some new security regulations for our Health Care clients, this new administrative option includes the following features:

  • Password expiration periods- passwords expire and must be reset after XX number of days.
  • Automatic password expiration reminders
  • User lockout after 3 unsuccessful logins

 

You can choose to enable these features by clicking on Utilities, Parameters, and General Parameters and check the box labeled ‘Enable advanced password security.’ Just below that box you can enter a password expiration period (in days) and the system generated reminder period (in days before expiration).


Organize Saved Filters in Folders

Are your list of filters becoming overwhelming and hard to manage? With our new Saved Filter Folders, when you save a filter, DPO will present you with an option to save that filter to a folder - making it easier than ever to organize your saved queries. To manage your folders, go to Utilities, Code Maintenance, and select ‘Filter Folder ' from the Show Only drop-down box.

Improved Financial Reports Listing


We’ve re-organized the Financial Reports page by logically grouping our reports into five categories:

  • General Financial Reports
  • Pledge Reports
  • Direct Mail Reports
  • Tribute Reports
  • Moves Management

This new organization should help you easily find the financial reports you need. In addition, we have added an on-screen description for each report to help you understand the benefits of each report. Try them today by clicking on Reports, Financial Reports.


New Reports!

In our on-going effort to provide better and more useful reporting and analysis, we’re pleased to release the following new reports!

  • Pledges- Linked Gifts: This pledge report shows you all gifts that are linked to a pledge. This report can be found under Reports, Financial Reports, and Pledge Reports.
  • Moves Management- Open Actions: As a part of the Moves Management Module, you’ll be able to easily see “Open Contact” actions as they relate to your Moves Management Plan. This report can be found under Reports, Contact Management.
  • Moves Management- Closed Actions: Similar to the Open Action report, this “Closed Action” report will show you all actions that have been completed during the Moves Management plan. This report can be found under Reports, Contact Management.
  • Moves Management- Campaign Analysis: This comprehensive report will give you a break down of all actions created, and all funds raised - broken down by Solicitor and Moves Management actions. This report can be found underReports, Financial Reports, Moves Management Reports.
  • Moves Management- Campaign Comparison: This report will allow you to compare the success of each Moves Management campaign in a side-by-side comparison. This report can be found underReports, Financial Reports, Moves Management Reports.
  • Tribute List: This report, which can be run on any date range, provides a list of all existing Tributes and Contributors. This report can be found under Reports, Financial Reports, and Tributes Reports.
  • Tribute Summary List: This report will list all ‘open’ tributes (i.e. those that are still receiving gifts), the number of gifts made, and total of funds collected. This report can be found under Reports, Financial Reports, and Tributes Reports.
  • Tribute Support: This report will show a list of all Tributes and their linked donations. This report can be found under Reports, Financial Reports, and Tributes Reports.

     

Customizable Export Templates

In the past, the only way to export groups of donors (for example, to Microsoft Excel or Word), was to create a filter and then Mailmerge the results to these outside applications. With our new Customizable Export Templates, you can easily create multiple export templates that include ONLY the fields you want to export. This makes the process easier and less cumbersome because you only export the fields you need.

In addition, any sub-report from any financial report will include an ‘Export to Excel’ button which will export the report detail to Excel. This makes it easy to download segments of a report without running a separate process.

These exports are defined as customizable export templates, which can be configured to include any or all of the fields in your DPO system.

Features and Benefits include:

  • Create and customize an unlimited number of templates
  • Choose any field from the Main, Bio, Gift or Pledge screens
  • Export a list of donors as a .CSV file from ANY report drill down
  • Determine the default sort order for your export

To set-up additional templates, click on Mailings, and Export Templates.


Improved Acknowledgement Processing

We wanted to make processing gifts easier than ever before. So, in addition to the new look and feel of the ‘Receipts/Acknowledgement Processing’ (formerly Batch Processing) page, DPO now offers an improved way to issue unique receipt numbers to each gift transaction. This unique receipting convention can help you with your year-end auditing and gift tracking. This feature is primarily geared toward meeting our Canadian clients’ needs as well as providing a way for any organization to systematize their receipting practices.

To activate this feature, go to Utilities, Parameters, and General Parameters and check the ‘Activate Receipting’ check box. To create your own custom receipting convention, click on Utilities and Receipting Setup.


Other New Features
  • Redesigned Multi-Select Checkboxes: DPO has changed the way your user defined multi-select fields display. These fields, and all of their values, will now appear similar to a “User Defined Memo” field, with all selected values being sorted to the top.

  • User Defined Merge/Purge Criteria: As an improvement to the Merge/Purge module, users can now customize the duplicate comparison process. Set your comparisons on First Name, Last Name, Address, Zip, Email, Phone numbers, or any combination of these fields. If you are interested in purchasing the Merge/Purge Module, please contact Julie Blum.

  • Gift Level Security: This new powerful security feature will allow an administrator to control which gifts users can access in reports and on the data entry screens. For example, a filter could be built to allow a user to only see gifts that are less than $100, or perhaps only see gifts given within their assigned region. This powerful security feature can help ensure data integrity within your own office and can be easily configured through the Utilities and Security screen.

  • Advanced Duplicate Maintenance: New and improved functionality allows you to customize your search criteria as well as merge information field by field!

  • Anonymous Donor Tracking: Flag constituent as anonymous and protect their identity in al system reports! To mark a constituent as 'anonymous', simply create a user defined yes/no field on the Main or Bio screens by going to Utilities, User Defined Fields. This new user security setting can be activated by going to Utilities, Security and editing a user's security settings
