Welcome
First, let me introduce myself. I'm Douglas Schoenberg, CEO of SofterWare Inc. We provide software for a variety of purposes including DonorPerfect and DonorPerfect Online for fundraising management, EZ-CARE2 for child care center administration, EZ-CAMP2 for camp management and MMS for Schools which is a student information system (SIS) for public and private schools. Through our business I have worked with literally thousands of nonprofits over the years and I serve on numerous nonprofit boards.
When I first started reading blogs, I couldn't imagine why anyone would want to read the random thoughts of many bloggers and to be honest I still don't get that. So you won't find postings here on my travels, how I'm feeling today, or my political preferences.
I am going to write about two things I'm passionate about - technology and improving the operational and administrative efficiency of nonprofits. As I noted, we work with thousands of not-for-profit organizations with truly great missions and wonderful people who work and volunteer for them, but to be honest they often don't use technology very well. I'm convinced that they can use software and the Internet to dramatically improve their operational efficiency and so I'm going to share my ideas and insights through this blog.
